The UPA(Usability Professionals’ Association) Hyderabad branch is conducting a Personal website and Blog Design competition.
Announcing a competition to recognize aesthetics and usability of personnel web sites & Blogs.
Personal web sites are like your home in cyberspace. They are personal cyber addresses. They have become so important that one need to book the domain immediately after deciding child’s name. These sites portray personality, knowledge, interests & information about the site author.A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world. Your blog is whatever you want it to be. There are millions of them, in all shapes and sizes, and there are no real rules.
The two categories are:
UPA-Web Personality
Personal Web site, All India category: This category is open to all Indian designers residing in any part of India.
Personal Web site, AP category: This category is open only for residents of Andhra Pradesh State, India.
UPA-Blog Star
Best Blog, All India Category: This category is open to all resident Indian residing in any part of India
Criteria for Judges would be:
For Web Sites: Creativity, Usability, Content, Popularity, accessibility, Resources etc
For Blogs: Quality of the Content, Frequency of updation, Customization of the Blog, Popularity, aesthetics, usability, Incoming and outgoing links & referrals.
Along with the Jury’s desicion, the online voting from 5th to 10th of October will also take place. Results will be anounced on 13th of October, 2006.
The basic aim of the competition is to encourage people to be more creative and share their works with the world.
