Ignite Chennai will be hosted by ThoughtWorks this Friday in Chennai. The idea is quite similar to speed geeking, where one gets 5 minutes to present whatever he/she wants to a set of audience. It combines unconference, speed geeking and fun. There is a flexibility with the choice of topic. Anything that you think fit to present to the audience is fine. Of course sales pitch is a bad idea and may even be BOOed upon if not the law-of-two-feet be practiced.
ThoughtWorks hosts the first edition of Ignite Chennai! Imagine you’re on stage. You have 5 minutes, 20 slides advancing every 15 seconds. What is the passionate topic that you would talk about?
I think the event is fun. The format especially is catchy. If you don’t like a presentation you only lose 5 minutes of your time and you move on to something interesting. The event is free and I urge you all to take part in it. I wish there were more of these events happening in India.
