If you have been an internet user for a long time now, there’s a chance that you have been downloading files ranging from small data files to really humongous sizes. One of the most popular site for file hosting and sharing is Rapidshare. As with other websites, it allows unlimited access to its premium content and services through paying a membership to be a premium user. Rapidshare uses an auto-capping script that allows normal users to download one file one at a time. In this case, the normal user has to wait for the first file to be completed for another file to begin download again. A premium account, however allows you to download simultaneously several files at a time at a much faster rate.

Here are some tricks to allow you to download several files at once using Rapidshare without paying for a premium account. But before doing that, let us first understand the technology behind Rapidshare’s auto capping feature.

Rapidshare logs the IP addresses of each user who accesses their system. That means that when you download a file, Rapidshare will already log your IP address. Rapidshare will then set a quota for you so that if you attempt to download another file again, the syste, will check the log if you have a recent download. If you have recently downloaded a file, it will give you a message that you have to wait for sometime before you can download another file. You can either use Rapidshare download accelerators or you can bypass Rapidshare’s waiting time.

Remember that every time you connect to the internet, your internet service provider assigns an IP address to your computer. If your ISP provides you with a dynamic IP service, your IP address changes each time you restart your system. A work-around therefore is to reset your earlier IP address and get a new one since Rapidshare tracks your IP address to monitor previous downloading history.

Steps to bypass waiting time limit of Rapidshare:

1. Click Start->Type Run on your computer

2. Type cmd on the run field. This will open a command prompt window.

3. Type the following commands exactly as you see it in here then press enter key to go to the next line

‘@ ECHO OFF
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /setclassid
ipconfig /registerdns
ipconfig /renew
EXIT

4. This will make your computer registered with a new IP address.

5. Go to Rapidshare and try downloading several files to repeat the above procedures every time you download files from Rapidshare

This is a very simple tweak. In order to further simplify it, just copy and paste the above commands to a notepad file so you will just have to open it next time and find no difficulty finding the tweak file.
