Microsoft Windows contains an application that will allow you to create an icon to restart or shutdown your computer. This program is called SHUTDOWN.EXE.
To create a shortcut for shutdowns right on your desktop simply:
- Right click on the desktop in any open area.
- Select New
- Select Shortcut
- Enter “Shutdown-s-t 00”
- Click on the “Next” button
- Enter a name of your choosing
- Click the “Finish” Button
If you would like to create a reboot shortcut, simply:
- Right click on the desktop in any open area.
- Select New
- Select Shortcut
- Enter “Shutdown-r-t 00”
- Click on the “Next” button
- Enter a name of your choosing
- Click the “Finish” Button
