One of the neatest features of the latest windows versions is the ability to change the colors of your folders. This makes locating files easy and even fun. If you are running an earlier version, like XP, you can still do it with an easy to use tool. This small tool will allow you to change folder colors with a simple click. The tool itself is called Folder Marker and it can be invaluable as you struggle to retain some sort of control over your files and folders.
For example, one mouse click can show you just which of your documents you have deemed “high priority” and which can weight. You can also use your one-click to see what projects are finished and which are still in the works.
The tool itself is simple to use. By selecting an icon from your right-click menu, you will be able to change the color (or even the icon) of any folder.
You can organize your work in any way you choose – select different colors for projects or change to a special icon.
There are several different versions of Folder Marker available:
- Folder Marker Free
- Folder Marker Home
- Folder Marker Pro
The free version is a simple Add-on that is marketed as freeware. It has the most basic and necessary features and functions, so it is best to upgrade as soon as possible in order to take full advantage of this great little tool.
