If you are having trouble with your computer crashing frequently or you have recently discovered a virus then it may be a good idea to give your computer a clean boot. Here is how to give your Windows system a clean boot.
- Begin by pressing the Windows key and the R button together. The windows button is the flag logo. Alternatively you can go to start then run.
- Put in the text field “msconfig” and then press enter. This will pop up the Microsoft Configuration Utility.
- Click the Services tab and look for all the boxes that say “Hide Microsoft Services”. Click on them.
- Then click on Disable All. This will disable all of the applications apart from the Microsoft Default Services. This will prevent any third party or malware software from creating problems with your PC next time you reboot.
- If you want to stop any programs from opening when you start up then simply click on the start-up tab at the top and disable all the items.
Once finished, click Apply, OK and Reboot. Your Windows computer should now be in a clean boot state.
