Generated Content Checklist and SEO

Alright, so while speaking with you client, you decided to let them know they need to incorporate user generated content directly into their website. Great. You explain to them that this will not only help their sales ride, but it will also help increase their rankings. A few other things you pointed out to them were:

  • When browsing the Internet, people use the same common words to describe things that their looking for.
  • They are looking for public talk about the products and are publicly talking themselves about the price, products, and the site. Who doesn’t love/need a fan?
  • This helps to whip up a superb amount of relevant content.

Those are a couple big benefits and reasons to use generated content. Now that your client is excited and ready to take the next step, it’s on your shoulders to make it work. So, what do you tell them now, and what do you do? Well, it’s simple. You give them a list of the things that you have found beneficial and useful.

Below is a list I have created of 6 things that I have found useful when I needed to use them. Although this is not all you can do, here is a good place to start.

Goal illustrated

What is it that you with to reach or obtain? Your answer should already coincide with the goals you have set for the business previously. Also be sure that these goals coincide with the website itself in particular. When it comes to the KPI or (sub-target) you may be wondering what it’s supposed to reach. Well, just think about some things like I have below:

  • Higher generated testimonials (conversion rates);
  • Difference of quality content to support ranking;
  • Difference of unique content to support ranking;
  • Acquiring a nice fan base
  • All of the above

Where you’re at

The situation that you’re in is the next step. What has already been done, and where are you, your mind, and the business at.

  • Do you already have enough members on your site that they will start to engage in one another and interact?
  • Is the website already set up so it’s easy for the users to interact with the website, without a hassle?
  • Can you handle the competition?
  • What will they throw at you?
  • Can you handle/ are you ready for the criticism?
  • Will you be able to handle and fulfill simple tasks?
  • Can you handle moderate tasks?
  • Is the information shown on the same URL that it’s supposed to support?
  • Is it shown completely or hidden?

Users

An important thing is to know the users on your website. This ranges from the business owners to the visitors, buyers, and browsers. What, if anything, do you know about them?

  • What kind of users do you have?
  • How many are just visitors?
  • Can you display the percentage of those that turn into buyers?
  • Can you keep track of when they are on the website?
  • Can you put them into a percentage; how many do what?

Gains

This is important because it is a very important thing that most business doesn’t think about. What can one gain from interacting with each other on the site? Why should the groups interact?

  • Comfort, sense of reflection
  • Feeling like a family
  • Meaning
  • A spot within the online community, somewhat like status
  • Curiosity
  • Testify
  • Coping

Communication and Prestige

Some things that you need to consider are dealing with the customers and users. You will need to realize that they will have opinions, suggestions and criticism. Ask yourself; are you ready to hear it? Can you handle the criticism and the remarks that they will have? Do you have a place for testimonials, reviews, or suggestions? Do you have someone who can monitor your website? Do you have a help desk available? These are some things that need to be considered. Be sure to WANT someone to handle the testimonials, as well as someone to answer questions, calls or concerns regarding the site, products, or etc. If you have a fear of communicating, then you need to seriously consider that before opening up your business.

Conclusion

The main point I am trying to make, is you must have an idea of these things I have listed. You must be open minded, and be able to do these things.

  • Your goals
  • Where you are currently at, where you want to be
  • The users
  • Communication
  • How you can satisfy your customers
  • How to keep them coming back
  • What they can do for you
  • How it all ties in together
  • Continue, redo, repeat

End statement; the user’s needs, are what matters.
